Mind in Making
I am reminded of how Sci-Fi extraordinary Gothic cathedrals must have appeared on the European landscape in the Middle Ages. Literally ON the land where buildings were otherwise and comparatively primitive, and ephemeral in construction, there rose stone towers of colored, sparkling glass, and ballets of scultured Earth. What it must have been to walk into one, or even see it on a hill. The movie cinemas of their Time. So like these, Thai wats and their enormous statuary, must have been in a land of fields, shacks and wooden houses. These edifices, they grow out of the ground, almost literally - if the figurative nature of the "earth and soil" of a culture could also be seen as a concrete, very real process. These are great blooms, the blossoms of a people, scaling higher. It reminds us that we are all constructing a Mind, where we realize it or not. A tremendous mentality of powers and experiences no one of us, or any group, could create on our own. In Thailand statuary of great monks are erected, just like this. Almost like antennae of sizable radio broadcasts, assembling a communal capacity to feel and think. This is what a fighter is as well. A Saint of affects, helping us concretely create the capacity to feel and think in a different way. Our Mind in the Making.
